Mark Borskey has over 25 years’ experience working in state and national policy and political environments.

markborskeyMark began his public service career in Washington, DC after graduating from the University of Texas. As a research analyst at the Republican National Committee, Mark assisted in developing one of the first interactive computer campaign targeting models in existence. He was then selected to serve as a Schedule C presidential appointee at the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) in the administration of President George H.W. Bush. As the special assistant to the commissioner, Mark acted as his primary contact to FMC, congressional, and federal agency staff.

Returning to Texas, Mark spent several years providing political communications and research consulting services to political and corporate clients. Mark returned to public service in 1995, and spent more than seven years as a chief of staff in the Texas House of Representatives. While in the House, Mark simultaneously served as a consultant to several successful statewide and local campaigns.

Following his time in the legislature, Mark became deputy legislative director and house liaison in the Office of the Governor. In these roles, Mark spent two regular and seven special sessions as Governor Perry’s principal representative on the floor of the Texas House of Representatives, interacting daily with the members of the Texas Legislature as well as serving as an advisor to the Governor on legislative matters.

Mark’s role as liaison to the House of Representatives provided him the unique opportunity to not only represent the Governor in the Legislature, but to also communicate the Representatives’ concerns and interests to the Office of the Governor. His even-handed and sincere approach to his position gained him the respect of members of both parties and allowed him essential access necessary to successfully advocate for mutually beneficial results.

In 2006, Mark left the public sector to begin his government affairs consultancy. Mark utilizes his experience and network of contacts built over more than two decades of political and public service to represent his clients and their interests before the Texas legislature and executive agencies.

Mark has represented a variety of industries ranging in size from Fortune 500 companies to small state associations. He was recognized by Capitol Inside magazine’s 2007 Texas Lobby Power Rankings as a Rising Lobby Star to Watch, and is consistently listed as a Top-50 lobbyist in Texas.
